Our property features 2 gated entrances allowing parking for up to 6 cars between the north and south side driveways, prioritizing your safety with solar motion detector lights at each gate entrance, ensuring a secure arrival.

As you step onto the property, let the captivating solar torch lights guide your path from the parking lot to your dream vacation unit. Safety measures continue with a solar motion detector light at the unit’s entrance and strategically placed security cameras overseeing walkways and the parking area.

Inside, you’ll be welcomed by the allure of beautifully stained wood Cathedral ceilings, adding a touch of rustic elegance to the space. Cool and inviting ceiling fans grace every room, creating a comfortable ambiance. Air conditioning is at your disposal to keep you cool and refreshed. Delight in breathtaking views through 8ft tall sliding glass doors. Our screened-in porch allows you to savor the outdoors bug-free, complete with a dining table, chairs, and additional porch seating. Marvel at the magnificent views, spanning from the Caribbean Sea to Pillsbury Sound and the Atlantic Ocean, featuring dramatic sunsets, cruise ship departures, and twinkling lights of St. Thomas.

Whether you choose the front or the back, you’ll have access to multiple decks where you can find the perfect setting for your morning sunrise, accompanied by your first cup of coffee, or the ideal spot to relish an evening sunset with your favorite cocktail.

Our well-equipped kitchen boasts a gas stove and oven, refrigerator, sink with a front yard view, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and an array of pots and pans to meet your culinary needs. There’s ample space for meal preparation with generous counter space, a center island, and a breakfast bar with seating. 3 steps down, and you’ve entered the living room with a TV for your entertainment. Our 42″ Smart TV enables access through your personal login credentials to enjoy your preferred shows (no cable). Indulge in indoor dining at the spacious dining table with a built-in bench and pull-out chairs, or opt for an alfresco experience on the screened porch while relishing the evening breeze and ocean views. Our multilevel rooms are meticulously designed to ensure everyone can relish the spectacular views, with the kitchen elevated above the dining area.

You’ll enjoy restful nights on king-size firm mattresses, complemented by a plethora of pillows. Personal soft lights in the soffits above each bed create a cozy atmosphere for relaxation and reading. The south side blue bedroom includes a bathroom ensuite offering intimate open shower with a soothing rain showerhead, vanity, closet, and makeup dressing table with comfy seat. On the north side of the villa, the 2 yellow bedrooms each offer direct access to the bathroom offering an open shower with rain showerhead, a double sink vanity, and a linen closet for your convenience. Experience comfort and relaxation in every corner of our 1360 sq ft indoor space, along with an additional 1071 sq ft outdoor area (decks/screen porch) in our vacation rental.

Option 2: Main Level – North side unit/villa – Midnight Sun (2bd/1bth/full kitchen)
Option 3: Main Level – South side unit/suite – Parrot’s Perch (1bd/1bth/kitchenette)
Option 4: Lower Level – unit/aprtment suite – Captain’s Quarters (1 bd/1bth/full kitchen) host lives on property.Each unit has its own private entry door (keypad).There are no shared INTERIOR amenities.

When utilizing the air conditioning, it is essential to keep outside doors and windows closed to prevent any potential damage or breakage caused by its operation.

BOOK A RENTAL VEHICLE IN ADVANCE!
We strongly advise against waiting until your arrival on the island to secure transportation. Due to the island’s mountainous terrain and the absence of services like Uber and Lyft, getting around solely on foot can be challenging. Taxi fares can also add up and may prove more costly than renting a vehicle, which is not always readily available on the island. We do not endorse any specific rental companies, so it’s crucial to book a rental car as early as possible. Delaying your booking might result in rental companies being fully booked.

Please note that when we mention “shared” space in this listing, we are referring to multiple units on the property that share parking and exterior walkways. However, there are no shared decks, interior living spaces, or other shared amenities. Each unit has its own private exterior entry door equipped with a keypad and a private key code for secure access.

The “beach essentials” provided in this listing comprise the following items: beach towels, 6 beach chairs, 2 coolers, and 4 pool noodle floats. We do not provide snorkel gear or umbrellas to help protect any potential turtle eggs that may be in the sand.

DreamView On The Hill

🌺To provide some historical context, let me share a glimpse of the past. In the late 1970s, my grandfather personally undertook the construction of their St. John Island home, with the assistance of two crew members hired from Winchester, VA. Nana matched his dedication, not only ensuring their well-being but also taking care of their nourishment. I consider myself fortunate, as I had the privilege of spending my childhood vacationing at this island retreat, even before I could take my first steps from the beach towel to the ocean. Our experiences were diverse, including sailing aboard "Midnight Sun," feeding bananaquits (sugar birds), exploring neighboring islands, learning the art of watercolor painting, tending gardens alongside Nana, and aiding Papa with his orchids. As I grew older, "happy hour" with snacks and a cocktail became a tradition that we never missed. Each moment was treasured.
Regrettably, Hurricane Irma claimed the home that Papa had built on September 6, 2017 💔. The ensuing six years were marked by an emotional journey. Come September 2023, we finally completed our new Airbnb, "DreamView On The Hill." This project was a collective endeavor, with my father devoting the majority of his time on the island, working tirelessly and essentially living out of his car, a testament to his unwavering commitment. I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to those who sacrificed their time; they truly understand their significance to us: Dan Herzog, Betsy Pullen, John Young, Dan Erickson, Oliver Foschiatti, Dave Klugherz, Randy, Martha Daddato, Sally Taylor, Shannon Hartfiel, Deanna Summerville, and Donna & Kevin Smith❤️.
