The Space

This charming vacation rental boasts a hassle-free 10ft gated entrance for parking 2 cars on the south side. Your safety is our priority, with solar motion detector lights at the gate entrance, ensuring a secure arrival.

DreamView is committed to sustainability, featuring self-sustaining solar panels that power the entire complex. Stay connected with high-speed Starlink Satellite internet with Wi-Fi extender in your bedroom.

As you step onto the property, let the enchanting solar torch lights guide your way from the parking lot to your dream vacation unit. Safety continues with a solar motion detector light at the unit’s entrance and security camera thoughtfully placed at the unit entrance facing walkways and parking area.

Inside, you’ll be greeted by the beauty of stained wood Cathedral ceilings that add a touch of rustic elegance to the space. Cool and inviting ceiling fans grace every room, providing a comfortable ambiance. Air conditioning is at your disposal to keep you cool and refreshed inside this 300 sq ft unit.

Rest assured, you’ll sleep like royalty on our king-size firm mattress bed, adorned with an abundance of pillows for your comfort. Personal soft lights in the soffits above each bed create a cozy atmosphere, perfect for relaxation or late-night reading. Our 42″ Smart TV grants you access via your personal login credentials to view your favorite shows (no cable). The private bathroom offers an intimate open shower with a soothing rain showerhead, vanity, closet, and makeup dressing table with comfy seat.

Start your day right with a well-equipped kitchenette, featuring a coffee maker, microwave, toaster, and a mini refrigerator. Whether you prefer a cozy indoor dining experience or wish to dine al fresco, our dining table and chairs offer versatility. (Indoor dining table and chairs, not currently photographed, but I assure you, they exist ;-)).

We offer 321 sq ft outside (deck) space to unwind and soak in the island’s beauty, as we provide a serene bench in the shade, ideal for enjoying a cocktail or for catching a breathtaking sunrise in the morning. Or walk out onto your deck to unwind in the cozy porch chairs with table and enjoy the view. The view from DreamView is nothing short of spectacular, spanning from the Caribbean Sea to Pillsbury Sound and all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. Prepare to be mesmerized by dramatic sunsets, departing cruise ships, and the twinkling lights of St. Thomas across the water.

Things to Know

This villa has 4 rental unit options, so others will likely be present during your stay.
Option 1: ENTIRE Main Level – North + South side combined – DreamView On The Hill (3 bd/2bth/full kitchen)
Option 2: Main Level – North side unit/villa – Midnight Sun (2bd/1bth/full kitchen)
Option 3: Main Level – South side unit/suite – THIS LISTING – PARROT’S PERCH (1bd/1bth/kitchenette)
Option 4: Lower Level – unit/aprtment suite – Captain’s Quarters (1 bd/1bth/full kitchen) host lives on property.
Each unit has its own private entry door (keypad).There are no shared INTERIOR amenities.
There are shared EXTERIOR amenities limited to: parking, front yard, walkways.Host will likely be on site. I am quiet, but feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Kitchenette:

  • All new appliances including vessel sink, mini-fridge, microwave, toaster.
  • Coffee maker with regular and decaf coffee pods, sugar, creamer.

  • Salt, pepper, oil.
  • Cleaning supplies in kitchenette lower cabinets include paper towels, all purpose cleane.

When utilizing the air conditioning, it is essential to keep outside doors and windows closed to prevent any potential damage or breakage caused by its operation.

BOOK A RENTAL VEHICLE IN ADVANCE!
We strongly advise against waiting until your arrival on the island to secure transportation. Due to the island’s mountainous terrain and the absence of services like Uber and Lyft, getting around solely on foot can be challenging. Taxi fares can also add up and may prove more costly than renting a vehicle, which is not always readily available on the island. We do not endorse any specific rental companies, so it’s crucial to book a rental car as early as possible. Delaying your booking might result in rental companies being fully booked.

Please note that when we mention “shared” space in this listing, we are referring to multiple units on the property that share parking, exterior walkways. However, there are no shared decks, interior living spaces, or other shared amenities. Each unit has its own private exterior entry door equipped with a keypad and a private key code for secure access.

The “beach essentials” provided in this listing comprise the following items: beach towels, 2 beach chairs, 1 cooler, and 2 pool noodle floats. We do not provide snorkel gear or umbrellas to help protect any potential turtle eggs that may be in the sand.

Please be aware that the maximum occupancy for this listing is 2 individuals, and we are unable to accommodate requests for pull-out, rollaway, or extra beds.

DreamView On The Hill

🌺To provide some historical context, let me share a glimpse of the past. In the late 1970s, my grandfather personally undertook the construction of their St. John Island home, with the assistance of two crew members hired from Winchester, VA. Nana matched his dedication, not only ensuring their well-being but also taking care of their nourishment. I consider myself fortunate, as I had the privilege of spending my childhood vacationing at this island retreat, even before I could take my first steps from the beach towel to the ocean. Our experiences were diverse, including sailing aboard "Midnight Sun," feeding bananaquits (sugar birds), exploring neighboring islands, learning the art of watercolor painting, tending gardens alongside Nana, and aiding Papa with his orchids. As I grew older, "happy hour" with snacks and a cocktail became a tradition that we never missed. Each moment was treasured.
Regrettably, Hurricane Irma claimed the home that Papa had built on September 6, 2017 💔. The ensuing six years were marked by an emotional journey. Come September 2023, we finally completed our new Airbnb, "DreamView On The Hill." This project was a collective endeavor, with my father devoting the majority of his time on the island, working tirelessly and essentially living out of his car, a testament to his unwavering commitment. I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to those who sacrificed their time; they truly understand their significance to us: Dan Herzog, Betsy Pullen, John Young, Dan Erickson, Oliver Foschiatti, Dave Klugherz, Randy, Martha Daddato, Sally Taylor, Shannon Hartfiel, Deanna Summerville, and Donna & Kevin Smith❤️.
